It's been well over five years since the whole situation played out so I may as well comment on it. The whole thing started when I encountered an individual named Tobias. Has a fox avatar, goes on about how unique his tail pattern is because of some very miniscule detail that I suppose only people who have fox fursonas would really care about. At first he seemed like a nice enough guy but it became pretty quickly obvious the guys main priority was to try to make friends with artists to boost his popularity and his personal art hoarde. I made the tactical error though of not catching on quicker and at one point when I was still under the impression he was actually being genuinely friendly I did say I would like to draw him a gift pic at some point.

Which turned into a terrible decision on my part because suddenly he was always asking about it. And then trying to get me to pin a deadline (Can you have it done by this time? How about this time) and this was during a time I was still in college so I had not only DMFA but classes to put in priority.

And I'll level with folks. I am not the fastest artist and when I say I'm going to do a gift picture, that usually translates to "when I have the time and focus available" and nothing shoots that down faster than someone needling me about it. Commissions are one thing, but a gift pic? Ugh.

Anyways, as I'm dealing with that, he started talking about how great friends he was with someone named Adam Wan and then a bit later he suprised me with that picture. I'll level with you guys, I honestly don't care if people want to draw bewbs and wangs on my characters. What people do for their own shits and/or giggles is their perogative...but I don't particularly care for the stuff myself. It's generally not my thing and getting a suprise image of Mab vagina is not something I particularly consider a thoughtful present. Especially when Tobias told me that the only way he could get Adam Wan to draw the character was if she was naked because he didn't like drawing cats.

Soon after (literally a day) he started really pressuring me to draw a picture of him and his girlfriend because he had gotten me gift art from Wan. At this point I was a bit annoyed and I flat out asked him what was more important, getting a picture from me or being my friend. He responded with being my friend but then an hour later he started whining about how he still really wanted a picture.

I got fed up, and so I slammed out the fastest fox image I could and threw it at him then told him I didn't want to talk to him anymore. So naturally he tried to contact me with a different screen-name which I blocked. Then a third one. Which I blocked. Then one more which I then quit using MSN.

To this day he is still the only person in the entire fandom who has managed to piss me off. I find him a self-absorbed user who cares only about his furry status and his folder of images of him and his fox girlfriend than he actually does about anything else.

And that is why I can never really appreciate the Adam Wan Mab image. That and I'm pretty darn heterosexual. If someone was going to do porn, the least they could do was make it of dudes or something. :U

You know, I once made the mistake of doing something like this to an IRL friend over borrowing a videogame (not that he was busy playing it, but it's a long off-topic story). For me, a gift art is when someone does something because they want to. If you don't want to do the picture, it becomes work and a chore and ultimately defeats the point of it being a gift because it is no longer something a person wants to do but more they are pressured or obligated to do. For me, it is one thing if you are commissioned and part of the commission includes a deadline. That's business. But if someone is like "Well if you are going to draw me a gift picture, can you have it done in under two weeks?" ...it isn't really a gift anymore to me.

I'm not entirely sure. After the whole incident I have tried to more or less forget what I could about it all. The only thing I really remember is at the time he was overly obsessed with Krystal from starfox, his fursona was a red fox with blonde hair and he was overly proud of his unique tail marking (which I think was that it was a black tip but with some of the black going up the tail some...whoopidy doo) and that he had a girlfriend at the time who was a white fox. I think she was supposed to have some unique trait to her but honestly just about every fox looks the same to me.

I was actually close to commenting about the guy in your hugbox thread but it has always been one of those incidents I don't really like throwing around. It was a really bad experience for me, but I confess it was also a long time ago at this point and probably doesn't look well on me that even years afterwards, the whole thing still causes me to bristle.
