Inspired by a thread on Lulz (yeah, yeah, I know): when you're looking for good furry art, what's your preference? Do you prefer it when a furry character is more human-like (plantigrade feet, mostly human facial structure, human hands) or more animal-like (digitigrade feet, mostly animal facial structure, paws)? Any specific body type you look for? Any kinks or sexual activities you keep an eye out for?

This pic was chosen at random from my unsorted FurAffinity folder, and is unrelated to the subject at hand.

I personally prefer clean art in either style you described, though I find digitgrade to be more interesting to look at.

I vastly prefer the more human facial structure. I actually got into a fight with another furry about this, he said I wasn't a "real" furry because I didn't like it when people just draw animal heads on human bodies. (Well I don't identify much with the fandom to begin with but that's beside the point)

I also like chubby furries, but not chubby girls in real life. So that's weird.

I like the more animal-like, I jus like it when furs look more like a separate species rather then people in suits. Though it's rare you find an artist that can do it well.
In terms of body type, I tend to avoid the extremes of the fat and skinny spectrum, sexual, pretty much just avoid scat and gore otherwise I'm a pretty open minded perv.

I prefer more humanlike, to some degree. Body-types range from scrawny to average to athletic to slightly pudgy(not fetish related, just a little bit), few muscular(but not ludicrously so). Small- to mid-sized boobs on the ladies. Nothing too overdone in any aspect.

Fetishwise?
I have a thing for micro

More animal-like facial structure but plantigrade feet and human-like hands.

As for kinks? I have a thing for human guys pairing with furry gals.

I like my furries to have muzzles, and fur. I don't care whether they have hair on top of their head fur. I'm flexible on hands/feet provided they're not hooves. I prefer an athletic body type, healthy + capable without super-exaggerated boobs/muscles/hips/dicks. (And no herms. Chicks or dudes please, although reptiles don't need boobs.)

I'm mostly into tame sexual play; consensual, passionate vaginal + oral + fingering (kissing is also good) in more or less any position that doesn't require mechanical aid. (Bondage/funky harnesses/dildos detract from my enjoyment.) M/F preferred.

I prefer more human-like appearance. Body type can vary as long as it's proportional. Kinks I prefer light bondage, but I'm open to most other stuff as long as its not scat or guro.

Might as well use one of my own gals for illustrative purposes on some of what I like, since she's tailor-made to my tastes after all.

In general I prefer a humanoid base with some animal features to them to flesh them out as anthro or otherwise non-human characters. Longer/muzzled faces, tails (when fitting for the species), species specific ears, sometimes finger claws or pads along with more paw-like feet.

However, I generally like plantigrade feet and humanoid hands. Digitigrade can work, though it varies depending on the character and the artist, since to me it can be offputting when it makes the character's legs seem disproportionately long to their body. Strictly animal heads look odd to me as well, like when it appears as if you took the head straight of a 4-legged husky and stuck it atop a human body. There needs to be some blend of human features to the animal face to be appealing to me. On the other side of the coin, faces that're too human with very little animal features often don't work for me either. Like, Felicia from Darkstalkers (while hot) doesn't seem very "furry" to me.

In terms of body types, I like all kinds, though my major preference is for males and females in some way big, like buxom, busty, voluptuous, buff, pudgy, etc. A lot depends on the character themselves and how they carry their appearance, like more normal/average characters can still be quite hot if they have an interesting look to them.

But most of the time my eye gravitates towards exceptionally large bulges, both male and female. Yes, I'm basic and shallow like that.

For me, it varies. I can appreciate the 'mainstream' furry style so long as it isn't super-realistic where it looks like a weird- such as the photocopied looking types. I can appreciate the 'cartoony furry' style to the more anime-esque type. Muzzled faces vary for me- depends how they are drawn - if they convey human emotion well. I like hair on the head but if the artist can pull it off (Miles-DF is a good example) it can be very nice just 'bald'.

I don't appreciate over-rendered fur, it looks tacky, though I don't mind if there is any visible fur at all and they just appear to have a tail and ears.

I myself am trying to broaden my ability to draw various levels of 'furry' from the simple human with tail and ears to a fairly animal-looking type. I always think it's good for artists to have this sort of range.

For body types I like everything petite-girls and girly boys to chubby girls/guys and muscular (though not exaggerated muscles or fat) guys.. girls with some muscle is okay (I don't much like the super-body builder type of chicks).Pretty much any type of pairing f/f,m/f,m/m is alright with me too. Herms/Shemales are alright as is some of the traditional animal-bodied types which anthropomorphic heads.

Really it varies, I try to appreciate all types.. but I guess it really comes down to certain artists people preference and their means of drawing furries.

True, but that's not the *only* type I like is what I was trying to get at.

Pic related, certainly curvy but nowhere near hyper. Also a nice example of the furry/humanoid mix I find appealing.
>> No. 35940 ID: 1d9bc5
I prefer when the designs are more human with animal features than animals with humanoid shapes. It also depends on how well the artist renders them. Some people can make it look like an animal realistically evolve into a hominid form, and it looks awesome. But usually, I find the more 'toony' look to be appealing. By that I don't mean WB or Disney characters, but rather that they look more like humans with animal attributes. That Tsmapikos pic was a good example of what I tend to prefer: >>35929

I like a lot of body types: curvy, semi-plump women and the comic-book ideal are probably the most attractive for overall body type. I very much prefer a cartoony style over a realistic style.

As for particular aesthetics, I like plantigrade paws, but ones that keep their animal characteristics. Same thing with hands: human styled, but with claws and pawpads, when applicable.

Max Blackrabbit is probably the artist that best encompasses all the things I like in a particular "furry style". When someone asks me about furry artwork, his stuff is the first thing that springs to mind.

Pic related. Love the paws, hands and muzzles here.
>> No. 35990 ID: 07ba3d
I definitely lean more toward the "stylized-humans" side; muzzles and animal-feet do not interest me. My body type preferences are essentially the same as in real life: everything from fairly naturally-proportioned girls (I'd describe the OP pic that way) down to small-framed tomboys (eg: Wednesday. Thanks, other thread!), as well as androgynous guys.

Kinks/interests: gay sex in face-to-face positions; lesbian dominance; blossoming same-sex attraction.

DO NOT WANT: basketball-tits and Barbie-waists; knots and cloacae; anything rape-y.

My tastes vary frequently, but they tend to stick around What's shown in the OP: large eyes, ears, tail, nose, maybe a bit of a muzzle, but close enough to human to retain hair, normal hands and feet (though digitigrade is not an immediate turn-off, weird hands can be), and a mostly human physique. I guess that sort of puts me in the middle? Not sure, but I tend to stay towards the more human side.

Good: A touch of extra body fat but not to the point of being too far overweight; bright beautiful eyes (not just anime, more realistic ones work well too); nice-looking bellies, not just "draw a navel on them and be done with it" but adding some texture and volume there (I guess this sort of fits with the first one?), and sometimes "interesting" character extras can be a nice bonus. Oh, hips and breasts too. Good round hips are great. On the right is a non-porn picture that pretty much sums up what I like. Also, interesting species are nice. Too many felines and canines!

Bad: Breasts too large (I have a decent tolerance range, but if the tits start having their own gravity it's a little too far), multiple breasts/sex organs (given three dicks, which one do you pee from? all or one?), most animal features, and anything that would make a person say "what the fuck?" Also, glaring anatomy errors.

Kinks/what I look for: Oral (male and female), moderate fluid volume (overkill is bad), "show-off" poses, vulva visible from behind (especially with a nice ass!), and I have a preference for solo females. Toys are good too.

I really quite prefer clean artwork as well. Nudes are fine, but I find that the best artwork around is done without any sex involved.

yah, that`s what I was thinking of. Max does pretty good art, I like slim not stick figures I try to avoid it as much as I can, the humanoid figure basicly. I havent drawn male characters I don`t really go far into the muscles, I don`t really like the lumpy look. you can have a strong character with out going and making them look like the incredible hulk. For me I like the pin ups myself and some adult art. I have drawn some, but not a lot. Here is one of my sketch book quicks.

Your image is basically my ideal, Sage. :)
>> No. 35997 ID: cd140b
Let me start off by saying that I am very eclectic with my tastes. To describe everything that I like would take all day, so what follows are, for the most part, general preferences.

As far as my preferred level of anthropomorphism goes, I lean somewhat on the animalistic side. I like muzzles, whatever kind of hind-limb is appropriate for the species in question, detailed fur, and no human-style hair. That being said, I like even the animal aspects stylized, with a mix of human and animal features. This is particularly true for the muzzle; it generally looks weird to me when someone draws an animal head as if they were doing a wildlife drawing and plops it on a fuzzy humanoid body (though there are some pics like that which are rather nice), especially if the image is sexual in nature. On the more human side of things, I prefer humanoid hands, but with paw-pads/claws when appropriate. Females of any species must have exactly two breasts. One thing I do not like at all is human-style facial hair on males that's a drastically different color than the rest of the fur on his face -- I recall one red fox that had blue hair, sideburns, and a soul patch. *eyeroll*

For body types, as long as it's not too exaggerated, it's all good. (Though I will say that I have a thing for short girls. <3)

As for kinks, without going into too much detail, (almost) everything that really turns me on can be boiled down to three things: dominance, size difference, and... uh, cum. Gender-wise, there is no porn on my computer that does not feature a female. I usually don't like herms, but I'll save the occasional herm-on-female pic if it's exceptionally well done. Generally speaking, I prefer cute, sweet, innocent, and romantic over sultry and lustful. Female genitalia must be humanoid; I have no preference for males.

This.
Also, I like the mixture of full/able bodied women and athletic. I also tend to look for chubbies(just chubby, no big bellies) and muscular fellas(but not overkill, more like maxrabbit muscular). Same for Herms. Large and plump breasts are a plus.

For guys, I like miupix's and narse's guys. Possibly the only guys I like. Also, I like knots, but regular miu-type penis is fine too.
And cubby furs, but the japanese mystical moving pictures from the Land of the Rising Sun ones. Like the ones drawn by Po-Ju.

As for kinks, I like straight(the one that makes you go "awwwwww", solo/group(adults must not be involved, and crossdressing and traps)) shota, straight shota(femdom, forced crossdress, and mom/son), and herm sex(herm domination, herm on herm, herm on female, no guys).

I think that's all...

>Do you prefer it when a furry character is more human-like (plantigrade feet, mostly human facial structure, human hands) or more animal-like (digitigrade feet, mostly animal facial structure, paws)?
Either or. It's a percentages thing. I pretty much draw the line based on whether or not they're bipedal, anything from that to human is fair game for me.
>Any specific body type you look for?
Healthy and natural. Porn in general is filled with so many anorexic bimbos with huge implants and plastic surgery it's made me sick. Give them some muscle, give them some meat. I don't enjoy porn where they're fat but a bit of chubbiness is perfectly fine. For tits, I'm not averse to large fake breasts but when it's obvious and ridiculous I hate it. Anything from "large but not ridiculous" to "delicious flat chest" is great.
>Any kinks or sexual activities you keep an eye out for?
Nothing really, I'm into a bunch of stuff but nothing that I specifically look for. I guess the biggest thing I'm into are tasteful shots of beautiful nude females, like in >>35929
>> No. 36051 ID: 57e5aa
Let's just say everything revolves around catgirls- women with a tail, animal ears, and occasionally fur around the arms with the occasional animal-esque hand/foot. It's partly why I was drawn to furry as they provide a larger volume of like art while being as alluring to my own kinks. That said, animal facial structures aren't there for me in most cases except in long-muzzle species that one would expect a more pronounced structure to occur in. Sadly I'm the pickiest with felines as they're the gateway mystical moving pictures from the Land of the Rising Sun drug that they always are.

As for body, 'tis all good save for the grossly skinny, physically impossible, or the exceedingly rotund (not the delicious chubby girls, though). Anything aside from that is per piece as I'm an art snob at heart and my collections somewhat try to show that... though even I have piss poor quality in some stuff, mostly older porn. Afterall, who doesn't have some porn they dig up and wonder what they were on when they saved it?

Now back to informing Verity of her creator's homosexual relations with the Sagey-One. *flrrd*

I like a sufficient mix and hybridization in ways that make use of the most pleasing elements of both animal and human traits. It's kind of weird, but I generally think a lot about how an anthropomorphic character would 'work,' so to speak - basically for fun/daydreaming. I prefer digitigrade (though I don't care too much about how the artist gets to digitigrade. Hell, I'll take them always being on their tiptoes), but I don't mind plantigrade, depending on how the rest of the character is.

Paws aren't a requirement, though it's a plus. I fucking hate wrinkly, knobby hollywood werewolf hands, though. And, for faces, I'm more of a muzzle fan. I tend to be much more critical of flat-faces, mostly because I've seen too many cases of smushsnout looking like ass in a spam can all over their face.

I tend to look for the slimmer, healthier kinds of characters. Chub doesn't hold much appeal to me. "Feral," 4-legged creatures don't do much for me either, and centaurs are even less appealing except in a badass sort of way.

As for style? I guess you could call me a moderate. I'll take general 'toon' styles, through the middle, and all the way over to Quite realistic. After a certain point, however, realistic gets to be too creepy, even for me (Hell no on photo manipulations).

Image related: I think this guy could be more human-like, but I like his depiction either way. Not for fapping, though (aside from the fact that I only like girls).
>> No. 36445 ID: 929c52
I prefer a good mix of human and animal features. For faces, I prefer muzzles, but they should be at least somewhat anthropomorphic. Heads that look like wildlife drawings are absolute mood killers. They need to be able to have semi-human facial expressions.

I prefer more humanoid hands, but I don't really care about feet. Plantigrade or digitigrade is fine, unless the actual animal is plantigrade.

Kink-wise, true herms are wonderful. Dickgirls don't really cut it, unless the author is just that good. I also prefer to see some interaction. Masturbation or just plain poses don't really do it for me (although autofellatio is damn hot), so I prefer my porn to have at least two people. Orgies are also good (the more, the merrier!)

Orientation-wise, I'm very open. And the only kinks I really have to avoid are snuff, vore, and scat.

I like my furries muscular but not Gideon-esque beefcake - I'm a gymnast, I work hard for my body, and being around other gymnasts has really turned me into a body-snob. Overly chubby furs, stupidly over-muscled furs, super-skinny girly-boys and super girly-girls just don't work for me.

I like enough muzzle on my furs so that they look like anthro animals, not just catgirls or anime characters with a silly nose. Also, dem hips, dem beautiful hips.
