Naylor can't take criticism. Ten bux says he's blocked goronhead already.

is there a way to easily tell if someone's blocked you?

Try to view an individual Tweet (click the time it was posted). It should tell you if you're authorized to see the status or not.

yep, looks like he's blocked me, which I actually find pretty funny.

also, I don't know if this is related to my comment, but he said "Not taking grammar advice from someone who's allergic to the shift-key." my response was "I'm not allergic to the shift key, I'm just lazy. and I'm not sure what that has to do with grammar advice."

Capital letters after periods aren't a grammatical convention, but a typographical one. The placing of commas, however, is important to the flow and the tone of a sentence. So to capitalize after a period is less related to the nuances of imparted information than the placement of commas are.

Basically, his mistake is more significant, even though it could be said that both of you were talking about typography, not grammar.

His comma placement is shoddy - I know fuck all about typography and have created very little written dialog, but trying to imagine how some of his sentences would be spoken out loud is jarring.

>>12842 you know. With Fisk being unbeatable, his kids being unbeatable, he could sell his services as a stud and create the ubber race. Even his idiot of a son has win genes against any direct threat he faces save is stupid sisters.

Nice hands btw. And this looks like a totally new story line plot, not a continuation of anything prior.

Let's not forget his retarded apostrophe placement either.

Maybe it's just random filler again.
>> No. 12879 ID: a2931c
What a little puss - he gets that uppity and upset because someone points out that he uses too many commas? If he thinks he's using them correctly, he needs to a) take an English class, and b) read this dialogue outload. Me personally, when I read his comics, I always have a mental pause when I get to a comma. So his comics read like "Janie (pause) you're my star (pause) today" It's absolutely retarded and maddening. And, todays comic, was probably one of the worst, examples of his comma, abuse. NAYLOR. STOP IT.
>> No. 12880 ID: e92643
Wow.

I mean, wowwww.

Does anyone know if Naylor went to college? Because if THAT'S how he deals with someone saying "oh hey, I think your comma placement is off" then I would pay to watch his reactions to the grades he would get from some of my professors.

we should have a talk like naylor day, where we put commas, in completely unnecessary places.

As a self-proclaimed grammar-nazi, naylors's' inability to type correctly is, much appalling to me.

Also, Naylor was probably planning to attend college, until he realized that no one would put up with his shit like they did in high school.

College is fun of right-wingers with martyr complexes and smug glibertarians. Depending on the college, he'd fit in passably or even very well.

Rule of 3rds
Rule of 3rds
Rule of 3rds!!!

Was it really necessary to show the top of the kid's head? Why not zoom back and show the scene? Depict that they're sitting in the bleachers or standing beside the gym or something? Why not just leave her out completely if you're going to just snip the rest of her body off?

I'm sorry, but this panel just rubbed every classically trained artisan nerve the wrong way simultaneously.

I can't tell if he's smiling the least little bit or not. You'd think he'd be happy, but he looks like he really doesn't want to be there.
>> No. 12977 ID: d2ea61
>>12963

Oh shit, I looked at the silhouettes closer and now I can't help but imagine that the psychotic gym teacher hacked off her legs and replaced them with some sort of frankensteinian powersprings to make her better at athletics.
>> No. 12988 ID: 4158f4
>>12958

That's... not really an ass shot. I mean, if it were DETAILED, sure. But just the fact that it shows the place her legs connect to, it's... not.

I mean, there's no gratuity here. No definition. It' s just Janie's back.
>> No. 12989 ID: 7f9e97
>>12988

It's more how close-up it is. If it were zoomed back even a little bit more, to show all of her legs and thus be about the pose, I doubt it would have even occurred to me.

Though all that may be more about Naylor's lazy drawing than about him getting off on drawing Janie, especially to judge by the rest of the comic.
>> No. 12990 ID: 2d7629

And the question once again is the background. Is it so hard to draw basic people around them. I mean they are in a school right so that means bleachers which should have people in them. I'm not looking for much but something would be nice.
>> No. 12992 ID: 7f9e97
>>12990

Even just have people in the background turn into little stick figures, maybe with a distinguishing characteristic if they're a named character. Bill Amend did that, and it often worked.
>> No. 12997 ID: 3260bd
The difference between Calvin's father telling him that he's from K-Mart and Fisk doing the same is that Calvin's father does it to mess with him and get a laugh. Fisk is just neglectful and lazy.
>> No. 12998 ID: d2ea61
>>12990

Actually, I'm beginning to think they're actually in some sort of a surreal objectivist dimension where everything but a few key places and the characters is nothing but a grey, featureless mass. From it, more places are formed as necessary and into it everything melds again when it has served its purpose.

It makes sense. Fisk is the god of that realm, shaping it to his liking. From the featureless void, he forms his dreams and desires. He truly is his own god.
>> No. 12999 ID: d2ea61
>>12997

To say nothing of the fact that Calvin & Hobbes is actually a good comic, whereas this piece of shit is Naylor's wankfest that shamelessly rips off everything good and makes it look worse in the process. Or possibly better, I really don't know.

>Are we training a ninja, now?

Really, is that it? That's his punchline? That's what's supposed to make us laugh? Holy fucking shit, I can't believe how unfunny this comic is. As bad as Better Days was, it was able to produce some real humor, even if it wasn't very funny, like the whole talking penis thing.

Naylor really doesn't care anymore. The only reason this comic exists is to make us look at the ad for his porno comic on the right side of the strip and buy it instead, that has to be the only reason he ignores backgrounds, hands, and anything resembling humor.

Wut.

Prehaps Naylor is going to make a future story arc (that stays for one or two comics then goes off somewhere else) that involves Janie changing into a "million dollar man" like person but with kitchenware.

Or he has no grasp of anatomy. you decide.

its just his chibi leg style... they have no feet - and has no place in a comic where all the other panels in that comic are not chibi

nice one naylor - another 'nayl' to the cofin :p
