This is your LJ-esque board. Drama (furry or otherwise), bitching about life, all that fun shit? It goes here.

Just try not to be too vitriolic, okay? Calling someone out on something dumb they did is fine, but please try not to really tear into them.

One more thing: dropping dox (or personal information, for those not up on their lingo) will earn you a permaban, no questions asked. If you REALLY have that much of an issue with someone, maybe you should step away from the computer for a while.

When you thought Sage's Russian Gadget Legion was bad in the rabid fan department, a guy on Youtube by the name of DasBoSchitt who makes Gmod Machina videos has been under attack by rabid Renamon lovers.

Why? Well, apparently because he has been 'misusing' ('Their' term) the 3D renamon model in his movies, even to the point of them sending him death threats over it.

His description of the story is long:
---
>I've gotten many angry PMs about my "mis-use" of Renamon. To an unhealthy number of people, (1 being too many as is) this character is, a role model, a thing of beauty and innocence, a porn star, you get the picture. These PMs have contained sob stories to death wishes and yet so many people seem to think I attack Renamon because I hate furries in general. I'll admit the ones that broadcast their personal lives and fetishes publicly are making me vomit, but this is one character I'm fed up with seeing and I say again ... poking fun at this one character isn't a slam on the entire fanbase

>Anyway, this video was spurred by a particular private message I got a few hours after GIB: Episode 8's release:

>Hello there DasBoSchitt.
I just wanted to inform you that I watch all of your videos, and I love all of them; while some are less funny and humorous than others, they all seem to play out well and fair on my end. While I cannot deny that I am a loyal subscriber to your channel and your "Garry's Mod Idiot Box" series is a brilliant video collection, I have some problems with your work. Now that I've gotten past all the sucking up and admittance of my love for your videos, it's time I presented this "problem" to you. The whole situation about you not hating furries, yet hating Renamon, is a paradox; by stating your hatred for Renamon in the "Tagged" video, you have also state a vulgar abhorrence for furries as well. Me and a collection of furry enthusiasts have agreed that it would be in our best interests if we asked you to cease and desist the use of Renamon in your videos, unless it is in a positive demeanor.

>While I cannot deny that Renamon IS a child's film star, we all love and respect her as if she were a real, living and breathing person. Back when I presented this issue to my group, they were all completely unaware that you had ever posted anything harmful to the name of Renamon, and did not believe me at first; so I provided them the video as evidence; they were amazed at the result. As further support, we've contacted other furry support groups (Specifically Renamon based) and asked them for their advice and they fell in line with me, and my organization's thoughts and concerns. Anyway, the point is, a lot of people don't want you downsizing the name of Renamon. If you would be so kind as to stop posting videos with bad things concerning Renamon, we would be greatly appreciative.

It's a little bit "lolsorandom" and "Swears are funny!", but like I was telling Sage, the guy's "Gmod Idiot Box" series is well-named... you'll laugh like crazy at them, and then feel like an idiot because the humor is really pretty juvenile and lame.

The Renamon thing's basically the same... it's stupid, juvenile humor that you'd think was done by an eighth grader with a long summer to kill, but it's still pretty fuckin' hilarious anyway.

There is still a sense of touch when it comes to this style of humor. An associate of BoSchitt, (kitty0769, I believe is what he is called,) does similar videos, but something seems a little off about them, as if he overdoing it...or maybe underdoing it. It simply isn't as comedically energetic as BoSchitt's videos.

I think that both DasBoSchitt and Kitty0706's videos are pretty funny, but Kitty0706's videos are a bit more drawn out than DasBoSchitt's small sketches.

So how about them furry porn site prices?

Arm-n-Leg
Sexy Fur ($57 for 90 days, aka $19/month, aka $231.17/year)
Tail Heat ($54 for three months, aka $18/month, aka $216/year)

More Reasonable
Club Stripes ($75 for 6 months then $60 for 6 month renewal; $135/year, aka $11.25/month)
Hard Blush ($43.47 for three months, aka $14.49/month, aka $173.88/year)
Fur After Dark ($60 for six months, aka $10/month, aka $120/year)

Prices above are for longer-term memberships, and thus are the cheapest. Shorter-term memberships are more expensive, such as $20/month for Tail Heat. If I listed them by month-to-month price, they would all be in the Arm-n-Leg section.

Yes, I understand some furs are rich out of their mind, can drop $100 on the spot and not blink, and buy several $1,500 commissions per year, but correct me if I'm wrong...

well, its all a question of justifying the amount of cash you want for your stuff

and i dont think that a porn site has much business in games... maybe porn games, of course, but aside from that, i dont see much else that can be expanded into
>> No. 540 ID: c2d37c
Thing is... SexyFur went from $5/mo for a site that updated maybe once a week, one artist(Bernal), and provided mostly pin-ups... to $20/mo for a site that updated mostly once per week(sometimes twice), multiple artists, and still mostly pin-ups.

My issue is with the content. It's mostly pin-ups. Who pays $20/mo for pin ups? It's really not even porn at that point. The "hardcore" stuff is few and far between and not always from a quality artist.

Now $5/mo for that sounds more reasonable cause you're really not getting much, but $20? Might as well subscribe to real porn.

But apparently enough people pay cause the site hasn't gone down or anything.
>> No. 543 ID: 4896e5
>>540

Tons of good artists post pinups (and single-page sex scenes) for free, so it's hard to justify paying for them unless you get to either dictate the content (like a commission) or get prints.

However, good artists rarely draw porn comics for free...

I can sort of see what you mean about SexyFur, it is 20 bucks a month, but there is a large amount of art, stories, etc. on that site. But TailHeat has been up for what, a month, if that? There can't be that much there.

I came to find this comic through this board. Did some searching on it, know about its past runs and history, etc. Kat Smith was re-drawing the old strips and editing out other characters and plot twists, and thus far did a great job. The comic flows well edited, and I liked the simple yet cartoony/mildly detailed style she had.

Why all of a sudden has BDK gone back to its original artist? Don't get my wrong I know its supposed to be "bad", but BDK is strongly written and the newer art just added to the comic overall and made it enjoyable. Now it lacks that extra punch. The writing is there, the art isn't. Are they even sticking to the original storyline anymore? Its seems to be all over the map now.

tl;dr - BDK and Kat Smith need to get back on track.

From what I saw according to the blog update (Cause I'm a huge nerd who actually reads the blog posts that update with the comic) it was somewhat planned that the old style was coming back. I could have dropped my brain though so I may be off.

Honestly though, I often find that in comics where things change suddenly or artists switch hands, unless the person makes a fairly large newspost, its best not to ask for details. Not because there may be drama in thar hills, but because if they wanted to go into the details of it, they would have.

As Kat said, she works elsewhere and I'd personally rather wish her luck on her next venture and look forward to that.

So yeah. Best of luck on your new projects and ventures and looking forward to seeing what you do.
>> No. 500 ID: ebedeb
i dont mind the old style

BDK has shown that low art quality isn't a problem when you have a nice well written story to go with it (unlike Buddies in Bigger Places which suffers from insufferable characters...)
>> No. 524 ID: e8e0cf

Eh, even the old artstyle isn't terribly bad.

But "Inexpertly Drawn Kitties" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
>> No. 536 ID: e0e6e6
>>524

true, but the original mission statement of the comic, that anything worth doing is worth doing badly, again indicates that the art never was the most important part - the storytelling was.

matt wanted to tell a story, he did so, even though his art doesn't look like something in a DC comic

heck, it was the same mentality i use/used when doing my own webcomic Psioetechniqa

Well I don't know how long ago exactly, but one picture was a sci-fi concept design you'd have sworn was drawn by another person entirely if it wasn't for the way the face was drawn. from a literary stand point this merely indicates that the twilight books showed a whole new audience what vampires and werewolves are...

unfortunately, then this also meant that they got their basic definitions from the twilight books - this just a natural reaction to that, a sad reaction, but natural none the less

give it a few more years and they'll hopefully wise up to the fact that they were wrong - you have to remember the primary target audience of the twilight books aren't necessarily the most intellectual or critical of thinkers... young girls that just want a romance novel

I find this real hilarious that the letter writer actually has no clue and has to use a Twilight wolf as a basis for all werewolfs...

About time a universal "movie and liternary monster movie education" system was brought out to make kids watch the old films so they don't get their minds warped by bad interpritations

So, evidently this guy has been stalking/copying Fossil for five years now.

Virtually every single one of his submissions has at least one comment saying some variant of "stop copying Fossil". Obviously the guy is capable of drawing, but he refuses to draw in any style other than Fossils..

It's really creepy to be honest.

Fossils dino babes were always fun to add seeing that I needed more toons and Fossil was always supportive of my stuff. He has no problem with it so I add them.
