I am not, by nature, someone that enjoys confrontation, being angry, or arguing. Yes, yes, feel free to make jokes, and then get banned for it. My issue with it is that while I don't enjoy it, that doesn't really stop me from doing so. Confrontation and me are like some people and smoking... it makes them miserable and yet they're compelled.

(Well, not always. I will admit sometimes it's fun, usually when my personal stake in it is low.)

But today I had to scream at someone until I was so angry my hands were shaking. I was having trouble typing afterwards to get back to work. I try to give a bare minimum of politeness to cold calling fuckers unless I'm in a really shitty mood or there have just been a lot of them. Most of them are on the business phone looking for my boss. However, sometimes I get one on my phone looking for a friend or family member.

This guy has been calling my phone for awhile. All the same guy, so it must be his account or some shit, looking for someone from my family. (And no, I'm not saying who. Make up your own damn trollface theories, I don't care.) I've told him before that it's not this person's phone and they need to stop calling me. I told him again today. Then he has the audacity to argue with me and start trying to make demands.

I lost it on him. I screamed, I raged, I honestly said every one of the most offensive things I could think of at him for the sole reason of visiting as much nastiness into his day as possible. Included is the standard "Get a real job!", which he of course responds to with how he is doing his real job and he is so awesome for it.

Now, see, I understand that sometimes you take the job you can get. But no actual human being with a soul thinks that cold-calling people and badgering them is a real job for decent people. It's what you do when you're a half inch above rock bottom. If you're not worthless scum, that is. Worthless scum thrives in these jobs, because they have no morals and no shame. Yes, it's a job that needs to be done, but it takes a weak mind and an empty heart to believe you're actually doing a good and righteous thing by calling up people, especially people that DON'T owe you money, and harassing them. That's Miles kind of thinking, right there.

Anyway. I just needed to vent about how cold callers are worthless inhuman pieces of filth who should be tortured to death over the course of many, many years.

I now demand that you agree with me and give me lots of sympathy and support.

Sechs, you are a good person, and people like you.

I've noticed that tempers are rising with the temperature. Just try to stay cool and stay hydrated and keep your blood sugar up.

Why do they argue?

"Hello, may I speak to [name of my boss]?"
"What claim is it in regards to?"
"... What CLAIM?"
(Oh, this is a real bright one.) "Yes, what is your business with him?"
"... It's personal."
"Well, he can't accept personal calls on company time." (It's a liiiiie, he just doesn't take calls from you fucks.)
"Are you his MANAGER?!"
(Hahahawut, yeah sure let's go with that!) "Yes."
"Well he gave us this number to contact him, so I'm not sure why he'd do that if he couldn't accept personal calls."
(Oh gee, your logic is truly impeccable. Practically Vulcanoid. Let me just put you right through, with my apologies.) "Well, he can't."
"And he can't tell us this himself?"
(Yeah, get huffier with me and try to sound all long-suffering, that'll help your case.) "No. I'm not going to put you through and let you waste his time."
"Well then could you-"
"You're wasting my time." *click*

I used to work for cold-calls for Wells Fargo's auto loans. Spent 2 weeks in training, spent 4 days on the floor doing calls, quit, went and worked 2 minimum wage jobs. You're dead on for that being a job for people at rock bottom or worthless scum.
