I'm planning sometime in the LATE future (maybe next june/july) to eventually just...post literally every comic related material I have of the fandom (but not siterips), be it free to view, to pay per view, to print back purchasable. Now so far I filtered through a lot of things, putting aside 42 DNP works and material that might piss certain people off.

I intend to submit each compressed file individually at a link, with a preview pic beside every submission at the share board. And the message box details; Acknowledging the Artist's name if I know, title, sex orientation (ex: M/M, F/Herm, Clean), any particular fetishes that stand out as a warning, possible summary.

So before I go any further with spending conscious days compressing and uploading, am I allowed to do this? Be aware this is going to be 13.58GB worth of material I have. And by the way, if I unintentionally post something that's not your cup of tea, I'll politely remove it.

Very polite way of offering smut my friend. I cant imagine anyone having an issue with this seeing as your going to so much trouble. You will, naturally, get trolls and whiners. One can only hope they will be dealt with accordingly. Kudo's mate.

Update: Just finished uploading all files, as well as a 2GB of new content I collected this month. Currently compiling preview images and description texts. Will definitely post my content in August.

I don't know if it's just me, but images seem to be taking a relatively long time to load. I don't think it's a problem on my end, as it only seems to happen on this site.

Pic unrelated.

Yes, we've been getting slammed by a surge in traffic the past few weeks, most of it likely related to Jessica Elwood (both concerning the photos she posted and the drama surrounding them).

If I knew exactly how to stop it, believe me, I would. This shit is making me very pissed off.

What's pissing you off? The 503's or the JE stuff?

Cuz the JE stuff I don't care that much about, but the 503 errors are getting on my nerves. Ch000b! FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT! FIX IT!

I'm guessing TGFB's current servers are not meant to handle this amount of traffic, correct?

So, I've been finding a lot of cool science and technological news articles, such as touchable holograms and whatnot.

So, which board should I go to if I wanted to start a general SCIENCE thread?

[16:43:56] <@RichardFox> I think /rags/ needs rotating random taglines.

Any suggestions? (if this is possible with the board software)

I haven't made any modifications to the site lately, and even then, I don't fuck around with the actual Kusaba X code. My best guess is NoScript is catching the post preview thing that happens when you hover over a callback link.

Believe me, I take pride in the fact that, unlike the helldump that is Lulz.net, we don't let any sort of ads on here that could give you a virus/trojan/malware.

Whitelist the site in NoScript, and you should be fine; the only scripts that are run around here are ones related specifically to the board software. If I ever find out that the opposite is true, believe me when I tell you I'd be talking about it on FA, Tumblr, Twitter, and here.

Pic not related

I'm probably gonna become the most hated man on the board for this, but /fisk/ needs to go..

Seriously, too much trolliing and drama to be dedicated to one guy (that being Naylor of course), weither your for or against him..

Who's with me?

If anything, we need to get rid of these fucktards who come over from other boards and think we're a glorified /r/.
>> No. 734 ID: e368a1
While I read most of the boards on here, I post the most on the Naylor board because I have to admit that trashing/pointing out Naylor's issues is quite fun and entertaining. And sage is quite right, if there wasn't a Fisk board it would be scattered all over the place instead of all the comments being in one place. This site NEEDS the Fisk Board.
>> No. 741 ID: 99a48c
>>734

Why not just merge the Naylor stuff into a general drama thread that also includes examples of other people with a case of unwarranted self importance, like Rayne from Least I Could Do?

This site has been operational for, I believe, less than two years now, and so far /fisk/ has accumulated 17282 posts. Being generous and assuming two full years, that's 23 or 24 posts per day -- about 710 per month -- covering a wide range of topics; a single thread couldn't handle the discussions about Naylor alone, much less throwing yet more people into the mix.

Just for anyone curious, I thought I'd give an occasional update on the number of bans handed out by the various mods, since it's such a fascinating feature of our board for so many people.

Current numbers:

Ragnarok - 53
Sechs - 124
Sage - 67
Hiro - El zilcho

Wheee, I have almost twice as many as the other two. 'Course that doesn't take dates into account, or how many were just doing whack-a-mole on ban evaders, but who cares?

Watch for this thread to update eventually for all the banalicious fun!

Yes, this is purely the number of permabans or bans that are still sitting there because they're for a month or year or whatever.
>> No. 684 ID: 7f9e97
Sechs - 214 (increase of 90)
Ragnarok - 88 (increase of 35)
Sage - 79 (increase of 12)

366 out of 381 are permabans

... God I need a vacation and a spa day...
>> No. 685 ID: 7f9e97
(Oh, minor note, two of the permabans don't actually count towards the total, as they're for image file bans.)
>> No. 738 ID: e09c89
So, it turns out that the reason the site was getting server errors today was because we had a shitton of bans on the site, and it overloaded our .htaccess file. XD

I had to clear out a number of older bans to bring it back under control.

If you'll take a look at the top of the page, you'll see a new option in the CSS selectors next to "Kusabax" - "Websafe".

This is a new, custom CSS designed by yours truly, and uses ONLY "web-safe" colors. You can preview the CSS, as well as find a link explaining "web-safe" colors, at >>/sage/476

We'll be keeping it strictly as an option for the time being, until I'm sure all the kinks have been worked out and it's working perfectly. Once I'm confident everything's working okay, we'll probably turn it into the site's default CSS theme.

This too. Though I think it'd be better with slightly less rounded corners, but that's just personal preference.

The websafe stylesheet is surprisingly nice, too.
>> No. 736 ID: 4f2b58
If you're doing CSS work and you're anything like me, I know it can be a real pain sometimes to find a set of colors that complement each other nicely. One tool I've found (there are a lot around) that is particularly nice is: http://colorschemedesigner.com/

There's a lot to click on, play with it and see what you think. It's surprising sometimes how good certain colors go together -- ones I'd never have thought of trying.

I agree with >>692 and like the Futaba theme quite a bit. I like the "natural" colors, but think it could be darkened somewhat and still look pretty nice. A dark but warm theme based on the Futaba colors and maybe sans-serif fonts could be nice. I'd maybe be up for giving it a go but I don't want to step on anyone's toes :)

By all means, give it a go.

Hopefully I'm not the only one experiencing this, but the 'Expand all images' option does not consistently work using the newest Firefox. I've tried refreshing and clearing my cache etc. Any ideas?

I've got the same problem. the only way I've been able to use it is if I go into an IE tab.

Still having this issue, even in IE itself. It's like the javascript fails to work 70% of the time.
>> No. 732 ID: e09c89
It's a software issue, yes, but not with your software - rather, the issue is with this build of Kusaba X. For some reason, the image expansion thing doesn't work on the most recent versions of Firefox with this version of Kusaba X (I've tested it on Kusaba X's own site, which runs on the 0.9.1 version of the software, and it works fine). The only reason I can think of for this would be the change in Firefox's Javascript engine, which (best I can figure) nullifies KX 0.8's image expansion code. (At least, that's what I think is the case; don't quote me as being 100% sure.)

I would upgrade the site, but when we tried it after KX 0.9 was released, it ended up breaking the site (I don't know how and I didn't save any error messages), and we had to roll things back to a previous version of the site. If we're ever going to install a newer version of the software, it will likely be KX 1.0, and it would likely come with a complete board reboot - in addition to cutting/adding/keeping boards per user input, we would restart all boards from scratch, and we would likely (finally) institute a full custom CSS as the default scheme.

Plotting Puck is... mostly unrelated.

Sage and I have been talking and agreed that shortly after the new year, we're going to be doing a fairly major revamp on the site's boards. We try to avoid doing so too often because we don't want to get into that "a hundred boards and they all change every month" thing some other sites do.

But basically, it feels like our current setup has found a murky place between having too many boards and too few, and has resulted in some subjects, boards, and so on getting left in the dust. For example, we didn't want to make an anime-only board because it was too specific... but because anime isn't in the title or general theme of /currant/, when someone makes a post about anime there, it gets drowned out under stuff about movies and TV shows and miscellaneous crap. The same thing kind of happens on /pr0n/, /dammit/, /wtfur/, etc.

We're also going to be looking at some boards and the annoyance/return value factor. Frankly, /use/ is up on the chopping block... while it makes for a valuable stance Sage and I both believe in (free speech), it also causes a lot of aggravation for everyone involved... just too much arguing and fighting and crap like that. If it was a thriving, bustling hive of constant debate, discussion, or even flaming, it would probably stay regardless of how much negativity it caused... but it's turned slow and stagnant of late. With so little activity, and so many political blogs out there and other image boards that allow it as a subject, it becomes harder to justify having it.

Anyway, right now Sage and I are still discussing what to do about the site revamp. Here's what we know for sure:

* Probably more than one board is going away. /currant/ and /pr0n/ will be revamped at the very least.
* There will be a new section, for personal boards. Sage will have one, I'll have one, Rags will have one, and we may offer them to other site regulars and friends. Basically this will be for each of us to have a place to post topics and subjects we're interested in. Kind of livejournalish, but hey, favoritism and privilege are part of the reasons people make their own goddamn sites.
* None of the Artist Alley boards are in danger. While we'd like to see them get more traffic, the traffic they do get is worthwhile, generally. /write/ is here to stay.

Things that have been brought up, that are currently simply possibilities:
