the story so far:

psyguy has been friends with jessica elwood for a long time

psyguy got depressed about romance and posted a journal entry saying how sad he was

jessica elwood showed how much she cared by sending him a picture of her boobs

they post posted this picture as a public entry on both their journals for some reason

half the people called her a whore, the other half moaned loudly and posted comments saying how they wanted to stick her nipples in their mouth along with other unsavory brash comments

she deleted the picture from her journal

thoughts?

Ah, well as I said, prudent, although it does suck in a way.
Best to stay as anonymous on the net as one can.
>> No. 8812 ID: 0ea1cc
Eh, she posted those boobs (the OP picture) on her DA as well, evidently by popular demand. She took them down after a short while, but she seems to at least be aware enough of anon's propensity for staying stupid shit not to be phased by them.

>>8808
Then she put that up. Predictably the comment thread for the photo is a million deep in her legions of fans screaming verbal masturbation.

Good lord, but she's got some sycophants. Her art's not really all that mind-blowingly phenomenal, honestly, though it's good fun and perfectly suited to be what it is.

I honestly spent more time trying to get a better view of the sketches.
>> No. 8818 ID: cc1741
I'm fairly certain that at some point in time Jessica herself has said that she enjoys showing off. Which means she's probably also quite aware of what she'll have to put up with because of said exhibitionism. So, you know, there's not really much more to this story to qualify it as drama, IMO.

I have a rather odd story to tell, and I thought you might be able to shed some light on it.

About a week ago, I went out jogging at night. Strange that may sound, night jogging is very refreshing. I started pretty late, and stayed out later than originally planned, and close to 1 a.m. I was dashing home through a park nearby my house with my flashlight. It's a pretty big park, and I wasn't expecting to run into anyone in the middle of the pitch dark night, but I stumbled across a girl out there.

A girl who was running on all fours.

I came over a small hill and saw a form, so I shined my flashlight on it, and saw a girl's face. Sort of. She was wearing a hood type mask over her head, it looked like it had a cat face print on it, and all I could see was her eyes. I couldn't make out the details of her clothes, but they were form fitting and dark. She looked at me for a few seconds, then immediately turned and ran away, Still on all fours.

I dunno why, but I tried to chase after her and catch up to her. The was no way in hell I could have caught her though, she was insanely fast. I seriously felt like I was trying to chase down a cheetah or something. I lost her the darkness, and went home shortly after. I've been out again every night since in the hopes of seeing her again, but so far haven't.

That brings me to why I'm here. After some consideration, I came up with the idea that she may be a furry, what with the mask and the catlike running and all, and decided to ask if anyone has heard of a person like this in, say, southern California for starters. I'll be more specific with the area if I get a hit. If you happen to know this person I saw, I'd like to know more about why she was running like that, or how she was so damn good at it. Perhaps I'd even like to try and meet her. I promise I'm not a weirdo, I just jog in that area is all.
Pic is I dunno, catgirls from some Korean manga

To begin with, I'd like to say that I'm interested in knowing if there's someone here who believes that it's acceptable for someone to charge money for something that isn't entirely theirs.

Personally, I believe there's something wrong when you're allowed to get away with this - like what Alvin Earthworm is currently doing with these animation loops he's setting up commissions for.

If you haven't heard of this guy, let me just say you'll never find someone who appears to have a large following for having no shread of originallity whatsoever; everything he has made is either referenced or taken from something whether he acknowledges it or not. Be it his characters or his flash animations.

The guy is charging 20 GBP ($32 USD) for a short 5 second long animation he's making into avatars using an animation clip he's taken from Excel Saga.

I don't know what's exactly worse, the fact that people bought a commission, or there's a chance that the admins on Furaffinity might not do anything regarding this.

What are your opinions?

>If Dragoneer is unable to do anything him, we're going to try and play his game on a new level and offer what he's offering for free.

I would suggest going ahead and doing that anyway, if just to see his reaction.

People 'animate' over stuff like this all the time.
Some people are just dumb enough to pay for it, saying that, who really cares as long as they like the end product?
>> No. 8805 ID: eb44bc
>>8803
You know, the more I think about it I have to agree with a point; if people are stupid enough to buy this traced crap, they deserve losing their money.
Though it was never really about what the buyers liked as far as this topic goes. It's in regards to Alvin being a talentless hack and him charging for traced art.

I think Dragoneer should step in. After all, he did with the krystal thing. This is similar

I'd like to hear what Freehaven has to say, because I know he's encountered Sniff elsewhere.

Intent is part of thought based morality.
>> No. 8757 ID: ef7351

You're both pretty much correct here, though I hoped to get Sniff to think for a moment. Something he was unwilling to do, apparently.

I didn't stick around that long, trying to get the wanted result. If you squeeze a lemon, hoping for OJ, and it doesn't work, you shouldn't just squeeze harder. It was a fruitless idea. Either way...

I like cub art - as long as what's depicted looks fun for all parties involved. I don't hate children, but I certainly don't get off on them. I LOLed at Sniff's repeated assurances that I was "lying to myself" or that if I didn't like real kids now, I would eventually.

Either way, I'll say it again: Doesn't matter how much you hate someone. In my opinion, bitch at him, bitch at his friends, call him names, try to goad him into arguments - if you must, but don't involve me. Try to do damage to his real life because you don't like what he says, does or draws online? That's fucked up, and I personally hope every last person who manages to do this, or has a hand in it happening, ends up having it happen to them and figures out that it's not acceptable. Or just bitches about how unfair it is, I don't care either way since I don't think these types usually learn lessons.

The only potential exception I could agree to is in a case such as Snistrtaz. He's already stated that child porn should be legal (mind you, this is stuff that often does real emotional and physical damage). And even in these cases, alerting to the proper authorities is all I'll advocate - it's not doing any good, really, to try to fuck up his life yourself.

People like Edis Krad? He drew stuff that freaked a lot of people. There is, I think, I good chance that he knows quite well how to separate fantasy and reality, and not actually do what he draws. So should you, too, be able to separate fantasy from reality, and not take your online torches-and-pitchforks crusades into real life-affecting actions, which in most cases are usually directed not at solving a problem, but rather simply damaging someone's life for your own personal amusement. I repeat: I sincerely hope ye random troll gets your address or work contact and starts threatening to destroy your life just 'cuz.

The online pissing matches, "e-cred" crap and stuff? Still quite funny.
>> No. 8758 ID: ef7351
>>8730
And possibly yes, but how, then, can I be totally turned on by drawn furry adults, drawn furry kids, and real adults, but not by real kids?

Part of that is having the firm understanding that real kids (1) cannot consent because (2) their minds are simply not mature enough to understand. Furry cubs can be any way the artist or viewer wants, because they're based in fantasy.

When the mind begins to blur lines is where a person will begin to have a problem.

Well, it's official: there's a part three to Gunmouth's Mora comic series, and he's even working on a part four.

Whether this is a good or bad thing remains to be seen.

Sign a petition to make it turn back to porn, lest it continues on as free, publicly-viewable, FA-posted chapters about Mora derailing herself and the rest of the cast further into a highly-watered down Ninja Champion-esque plot where Rain Silves becomes Mistress Splinter. Or Shredderette.

I say "watered down" because that's what I thought about the hilarious joke that is the actual fight between Mora and Rain and Mora's obvious bluff about being a badass royal asscaptain.

Can I get some advice? This guy comes to commission and has repeatedly violated my eyes saying things like this but he's offering enough money to pay my bills and cons for a 50-60 pages comic commission. So I am extremely weirded out but at the same time, I can't completely blow him off and lose the chance for a nice income and the ability to fix a lot of my financial issues. Any advice to help me deal with this guy? I don't think it would be appropriate to have his real screen name on here, so it's changed. And he has told me a lot about himself I don't think would be appropriate to say without hearing ya'lls opinions first. :( Help?

Accepted money, then ran. Not that I believe orangy would do that, but there's no guarentee that something might cut her off from her contacts.

And yeah, Hirtes did that a fair bit, he would commission large pieces, then abandons the contract without paying the end. This is why you should be paid per image done.

>>You'll want to make sure you get paid for each page you complete.

Actually, thats probably the best method.
>> No. 8631 ID: 31962c
Wow, that's messed up. How can you get the money to commission a long comic project and still not have learned the rules for polite society? I am boggled. Hell, I feel like a huge creep just asking porn artists to draw me porn!

Regarding payment, I agree with getting it up front in batches, either per-page or per-group. That way if he crosses the line even further (somehow) it's easier to cut him off.
>> No. 8661 ID: ef7351
Yeah, I've had art commissioned at Cons and, save for artists doing simple badges like Marci, etc. most I've had tell me to pay half up front, return in the middle to make any necessary modifications while it's still a sketch, then pay the rest when completed. I'm not talking about me insisting on these; artists have told me to do it this way, which works well. On the rare occasion that the sketch needs huge modifications or changes, I tend to tack on a bit extra then or at the end.

I agree: Get him to pay half up front. And be polite but very firm in insisting that this is a friendly business relationship, but it is still *only* a business relationship. If he keeps on, keep reiterating this, but get slightly less polite each time. There'll be a point, hoppefully sooner rather than later, that he either gets it and shuts up, or gets it and leaves. But don't let him do this siomply because of the money unless you're truly willing to put up with his creepy stalker-ness.

I guess I'm the only person in the entire fandom who can enjoy someone's art even if something(s) about the artist don't appeal to me. I don't know anything to hate Zaush for, but I still like Gembeck's art despite knowing he ended up doing some fucked-up stuff. And if an artist is a drama-whore but draws stuff I like, I just enjoy the art and ignore the drama.
